Welcome to India Class

Class teacher – Miss Lilley

Teaching Assistant - Mrs Setchfield

After the half term break we will be learning about Urban Pioneers. The topic is focused around the area that the children live in and so we will be visiting the city centre to gain an insight into the main attractions of Peterborough. The topic will provide lots of opportunities for the children to be creative as they will explore urban art and by the end of the topic they will create artwork which will be showcased to parents. Our literacy will be topic based as this will give the children the opportunity to show off their knowledge within their writing. They will write a diary entry, create a leaflet encouraging people to come and visit Peterborough and finish off the year by writing some poetry. The whole of India class have worked extremely hard this year and so they should be extremely proud of themselves!

Class Rules

1. Always try your best.

2.  Respect each other.

3. Listen carefully to one another.

4. Never hurt each other physically or with your words.

5. Help each other, both in the classroom and on the playground.

6. Be a good friend.

7. Keep the classroom neat and tidy.

8. Be happy :)

Once again we are encouraging the children to read at home, the more they read the more class dojos they will get! Homework and spellings will be set on a Friday and will need to be returned by Wednesday in order for me to have a look at them before the next piece of homework is set. I will set maths and English on alternate weeks along with some multiplication practice each week. Every half term the children will also have a topic based project to complete, which will need to be completed by the end of the half term.

India class will have their P.E. on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, please make sure that your child has their full P.E. kit on these days (including footwear). No earrings are allowed during P.E. lessons so if your child can not remove their earrings themselves can you please make sure that they arrive at school with no earrings in on those days.
