Animal Visitors!

Reception have had some fantastic visitors this term!

This term we are learning all about animals, what they do, how to look after them and how to be safe around them. Reception were lucky to be visited by a guide dog volunteer who trains puppies to be guide dogs. She explained that he is a working dog and that he has some very special jobs to do. Reception learnt that we should not interfere or touch guide dogs if we see them out in public. Reception learnt that some animals have some important jobs to do. We learnt that is costs £55,000 to train one guide dog!

We have also been visited by Wood Green Animal Shelter who did some workshops with us about making a home for a hamster and about how to stroke and be safe around dogs.

The children have learnt some invaluable information and many have told us different things we can now do to look after our class pet!
