Welcome to the Year 6 Romania Class page!

Class teacher: Miss Lilley

Current topic: Enterprise

P.E days: Monday and Wednesday

Class reading book: Rooftoppers

I hope everyone had a lovely half-term break and are feeling well rested. I just wanted to start by saying how incredibly proud I am of all of Romania class for their maturity and resilience during SATs week. They all tried amazingly well, and I couldn't have asked of any more from them.

Continuing with our normal operating procedures, the students will handwash and sanitise their hands regularly throughout the day and the classroom and toilets will be regularly cleaned.

This half-term, we will be embarking on a unit of work called EnterpriseThis unit of work will be extremely exciting, as the students will learn how to start a small business with the help of a small start-up fund. They will create a business plan, branding and will learn about different advertising strategies to help them sell their product and (hopefully) make a profit. They will use Excel to help them organise the financial side of the business and will learn about profit margins and loss. The final outcome of the unit will be for them to sell their products at the summer fair. Alongside this, we will also be working on our end of year leavers assembly, as well as continuing our learning in reading, writing and maths.

Our class reading book is Rooftoppers. This is read to them every day. We encourage the students to read every day at home, making sure they bring in their reading record each day to be checked. We have a new whole class reward system for reading, whereby if they reach certain reading milestones they will receive a small goody bag.  Homework and spellings will be sent out on a Friday and will need to be completed / practised ready for the following Thursday please. They will also need to make sure they are finding time to complete Doodle and TT Rockstars at home. All logins are in their reading record books.

If you have any questions or queries about your child's learning, do not hesitate to come and see me at the classroom door at the end of the school day. Alternatively, you can make an appointment with me after school. Thank you for your continued support.
